I cannot believe that it is already April. Don’t get me wrong — I am not at all sad that we are leaving the cold weather behind. But time has just been flying by these past few months. It has been a bit blustery the last few days but then I suppose that is what spring is all about. We’ve all heard the saying, “April Showers brings May flowers!”
Just to make sure I get to see those flowers soon, I decided to take matters into my own hands and help Mother Nature out a bit. Yesterday I attended a workshop put on by our local garden store. The project: pl
anting our own hanging basket! First we learned a bit about designing the basket. Next we came up with the colors and design we wanted. Finally we transferred the small plants to our baskets and labelled them with our names. For the next 6 weeks our baskets will be lovingly nurtured by experts until it is warm enough for us to take them home and hang them up.
I can hardly wait to see what my basket is going to look like. I am not going to tell you what flowers I selected — but I will let you see what it looks like now. Don’t you just love surprises? I do!

I have killed every single plant I’ve been in charge of. But all of the sudden – after this insane winter – I NEED flowers. I need them around, and I’m trying to convince myself I won’t be a murderer this time. I’m going to ignore the fact that you just used big words like “transfer” and “basket” and pretend I can do this 🙂
