Hi! Welcome to My Sweet Life. This site is a chronicle of the things going on in my life. I feel so lucky to have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years. We have two young adult children that we enjoy spending time with and we think are pretty awesome.
As you can see from my site, I love baking and cake decorating. I wish I could say I have some fancy pastry chef degree but I’m mostly self taught. I like to find pictures of cakes in books, magazines or on the internet and then I figure out how to do it. I worked in a bakery for a couple of years decorating their cakes. I discovered that I don’t enjoy mass production but absolutely LOVE working on detail oriented cakes like the wedding cakes and other special occasion cakes. I’m also starting to make more cookies and expect that I will continue to do so.
Another thing I love is chocolate — not just any kind of chocolate but deep dark chocolate and fancy chocolates. Now that my life has slowed down a bit I intend to explore more chocolate techniques and of course I will blog about those adventures.
You never know what else is going to pop up here on my blog. After going through a life changing event during the last while, my life is kind of an open slate right now. I feel the creativity returning and am looking forward to see what the future holds. I hope you will join me and my adventures.
